Jill is a self-taught needlepoint artist living in southwestern Maine. She has been stitching her original designs for over three decades and still feels that she has barely scratched the surface of what she hopes to explore with her needle. Through fiber and the traditional medium of needlepoint, she has found a voice to express her ideas in both abstract and representational art. Learning to allow the work to develop organically has been one of the most liberating lessons she hs learned as an artist. Even the most planned piece is given absolute freedom to alter during the course of its progress. Recognizing that constraints in life and art will negatively impact both, Jill consciously lives by her words-"I have always believed that one's life is one's art and when in perfect balance, it is, indeed a well-stitched life.
